Cardmaking

Happy Birthday to Someone! Using three different papers to create this card. The Happy Birthday was fussy cut so that I could get the greeting centered and then mounted on blue card stock. The flower is cut from Stretch Your Imagination cartridge at 4 1/2" in blue and the Silhouette feature in a deep yellow, then added Stickles on that shape.

Cardmaking, Easter

Embossed Easter Card Rainy today so I was making cards. Here's one of them for Easter. It is made from Doodlecharms cartridge and Plantin Schoolbook. The basket was cut at 6 1/2", Bunny at 3", Eggs at 4" which on this cartridge, everything is proportioned unless you have real size button pushed. The Happy Easter was cut at 1/2" with the End Caps feature used. Basket embossed with Traffic Jam folder, the yellow card Swiss Dots, and the eggs were with various border folders.

Poster board Birthday

First Birthday Poster I know that its hard to see this one since the picture was taken on a dark table. Elmo was cut from Sesame Street Friends at 22" and I used Design Studio to help me size things up on the poster board that I had. I glue Elmo to the side of the board so that he is half on the board. He does have a birthday hat cut from Doodlecharms and is holding a present cut from Stretch Your Imagination. I tucked the present under part of his hand that I did not glue. Other presents were also cut out from the same cartridges of different sizes and embossed on the Cuttlebug. The lettering was done in Mickey Font cut at 3 1/4" with a shadow effect. The 1 cut at 5". After I got to the party, I added some more pictures from various times in her life. She has grown from 3 1/2 lbs at birth to 21 lbs. Such a cutie. The little picture in the corner was a 8 1/2 x 11 coloring book picture and given to the baby which shows the size better of the poster.

Closeup of the cupcake, embossed with Swiss Dots folder and Stickles on the dots and a little on the bottom edges..

A closeup of the first that was embossed with a Birthday folder on the Cuttlebug.

Cardmaking

SPRING This is a very quick project. The "Celebrate" is a rubber stamp that is with a collection of other stamps. Stamping is not my thing! Either I stamp too hard, get ink on the card (the bow is covering it) all over myself or anything else that can go wrong. I used 3 Cuttlebug folders with this project, Swiss Dots, Devine Swirls and a Border from With Love. The bird was from a grouping of Spring stickers, Martha Stewart punch and some gemstones leftover from Christmas minus the silver that was part of the back. Time to Celebrate Spring!

Sewing for Babies

Once a month, they have a Baby Sew Day at my local sewing machine dealer( Pins and Needles) where we create items babies in need for Mccafferty House. It is usually the third Tuesday of the month and that's where I was yesterday from about 10:00am til 3:00pm. They also have cutting days on Wednesday mornings and put together kits for others to take home and do at their own time and return the next month. These are the knot hat kits that I serged for them last month. Some of the items that are sewn are: quilts, booties, gowns, other type of hats, knit and crochet items are also donated. So many people donate their time and it is my small part to help when I can.

Cardmaking, St Patrick's Day

ST PATRICK'S DAY Using Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, I set the size for 3" and kept it there to cut all the details for the Leprechaun. Added chalk and Pigmas pen for details and Stickles in gold for the coins and buckles. The paper was already printed with all the patterns, so I just cut it to utilize it as best as I could. Since the Leprechaun was covering Happy, I just cut out and mounted it to a gold paper with mounting tape to give it a raised look. Also mounting tape for the pot of gold.

Quilting

St. Patrick's Day
Today, I have a small paper pieced pillow (9" finished) that matches the table runner for St. Patrick's Day.
It is done in 4 sections and pieced together, then the borders were added and a backing fabric and then was stuffed. With something this small it is necessary to paper piece , otherwise the pieces would be too small. Trying to use up my stash of this holiday fabrics.

Quilting

Saint Patrick's DayThis table runner has been around for awhile but since I only have it out for a short time, I thought I would share. The green shamrock were pieced together, then cut out sort of like a heart shape and Machine appliqued on a larger white printed fabric. Borders were added then quilted in the ditch.

Cardmaking

Think Spring! Another rainy day in Ohio! Whats on my mind today is Spring! Its been a long winter around here and I really like the fresh colors of Spring. Created this card for no special person, only because! Experimenting with the sizes from Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. The lettering was done at 5" with the shadow feature run through the Swiss Dots folder. Also used a border punch for the green area. a punch for the scallop with the tulip was done once in pink, the white glues on top after it was also run through the Swiss dots folder.

Cricut Poster,

Today is Tony's 66 th BirthdayRetired and how he spends his days is watching TV and playing Games on the computer.

Chip and Dale poster and cards And here are the projects made for Tony's Birthday. His poster is Chip and Dale with Juicy fruit gum. Our joke with him. Chip and Dale were done at 11". Had to finish in the Design Studio with the body parts ( Layers: Outfit,) for Chip because they were too big for the mat. I rotated and til the size fit. The Happy Birthday on the poster was cut at 4" with a blue shadow from Mickey Font, and the Grandpa, Dad and Tony were cut at 2" to match the paper. On the cards , Chip and Dale were simply cut at 5".

Machine Embroidery

Finger Puppets These are just a few of the finger puppets that I made for the Smiles for Children Project. All done in the hoop with felt. In a larger hoop, I was able to get 4 of the same puppets and then edited the designs so that I wouldn't have to change thread for each animal. At the last color change, you slip another layer of felt under the hoop and stitch. The monkey take the longest because his face in all thread but he is too cute. Some have to be slit at the bottom so that you can get your finger inside.

Reversible Table Runner

So here is another table runner that is reversible. On one side I use it for St Patrick's Day and on the reverse it is done in Easter colors. Quilt as you go using a large center square and strips on the reverse. Then you cut triangles for one side and strips for the reverse. All layered on the batting. You can continue for as long as you want the size to be.

Quilting

Saint Patrick's Day

With St. Patrick's Day only 10 days away, I thought I would post projects in the next couple of days for this holiday. This is a table cover made very similar to the heart place mats but then cut in the shape of a shamrock. Strip pieced so scraps are used. The back is done in the white with green fabric and looks good enough to be used on this side as well. You could put a hook on this project and then hang it on a door. I currently have this on the center of my kitchen table.

Machine Embroidery

These cute paper dolls were all done in the embroidery hoop for the smiles for Children Project. I did not digitize them but when you send in a required number of designs they will give you a new design that you pick out from over 4 pages of designs. You then embroider them and send them to the group who distributes them. Its a way to help others who have a greater need. Tack it Over and Over is added to the backs that make these stick.

Machine Embroidery

I have been working on these cats which are like paper dolls for a few days. They are made of felt and are embroidered in a hoop. In order to keep the clothes on, you need to add Allene's Tack it Over and Over to the back of the clothes. I love the felt that I found which is printed in the leopard print and also polka dots. The glasses should have clear vinyl but with the new rules from the government and product safety, I left it out. I make these and others for the Smiles For Children Project. Visit their website: http://www.smilesforchildrenproject.com/

Serger purse

This another serger purse that I did in black and pink. Love polka dots! I did modify the pattern slightly from the first one. Had to make the polka dot fabrics slightly larger in the length. Put together as the other one and in less than an hour, you can complete this once you have your four different fabrics. I guess you could make it all the same fabric if you wanted.

Cardmaking

This card was made for no particular person, but I saw this style in a magazine and tried my hand at it. I still will put a small greeting on the front of Happy Birthday on the band that you take off to open the card. The words inside were printed on the computer and cut out with a rotary cutter and layered. There are a lot of layers to this card. I like the way it open in the center, not a traditional opening. The scallop was cut from a 2" punch and the flower from Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge, also the scallop on the bottom of the band was cut from PS.
