Birthday Cards
So being on the web, you see what others are doing and these flowers seem to be one of the newest items. Cut out from George cartridge at from 1" to 3" at 1/4" intervals. I cut them on the Expression and just changed the dial for the size. You then spritz them with water and scrunch up to wrinkle the paper, let them dry and then inked the edges and centers. I used four layers and then the smaller layer I made the small flower.

I also cut the leaves, wet them and wrinkled but used a Spellbinders folder in 3 different sizes.

Candle Mat
Before Valentine's day, I created this candle mat, done with cuts from the Cricut. I did use the Gypsy for the sizing of the hearts which were cut from 4 colors of wool.
I used the Cricut to cut the hearts out of fusible web then fused to the back of the wool and then cut the hearts out. I didn't want to put the wool through the Cricut because of the fibers were too fuzzy and would create a problem on the mat and harder to clean.
The white background pattern was also created on the Gypsy by welding 4 hearts together and then traced on the wool. After fusing the hearts, I felted them onto the background but then used a applique stitch around the largest heart. The cuts were from the Sweetheart cartridge. I tried to use the scallop heart for the largest heart but even at 3" there were too many scallops to show up on the final heart.
After I felted the hearts, I stitched onto a piece of wool felt and cut about a quarter inch larger.

Birthday Card
Using the Wild Card cartridge, I created these two cards sizing them on the gypsy. Both are embossed using Cuttlebug folders although it is hard to see in these pictures.
On the inside, I just cut the paper to fit so that when the card is closed the print shows through. I took the flame cuts and just glued the backs and just placed the by using the opening for the flames, then used Stickles to make them sparkle.

Used the "Happy Birthday from A Child's Year for the greeting. Since there is not a shadow or blackout on this cartridge, I went into the Gypsy Hide feature to remove some of the lines on the inner part of the words. On the second card, it does show better with the solid background but that is why I usually make two of the same type of card.

Masculine birthday cards
A couple of more cards done with the same paper done in a previous paper. Love this combination and I think that they make great cards for a male in your life. The Happy Birthday was cut to fit the rectangle from the Don Juan cartridge. All I did was back it with white card stock and put it through the Cuttlebug. Strips of paper were cut 1/4' smaller than the A2 size, then used a punch to cut the stars and used foam squares to mount them.

Valentine's cards
Here are another group of cards for Valentine's day. Having trouble with my camera so sorry they are so blurry.
This mouse was created from a scallop heart that I got the idea fro The Yellow Canary website using wiggle eyes.
Smiley cartridge that was a free download for the gypsy from Cricut. Used the Martha Stewart punches which is a set of two so that you have the corner punch. You have to use a certain size paper in order to create a rectangle and is written on the directions..
Larger mouse card layered over other scalloped hearts. Need to get a black thread yet for the whiskers.

Masculine birthday card
I was looking for ideas to create a card that looked more masculine. It came from a card that someone else created from the Cricut message board!

I had these papers that coordinated and picked up the blue from some card stock scraps. To give the texture, first I ran the card with the squares glued in place, stamped the Happy birthday, cut the stars and then also placed them in the Cuttlebug folder. Used the dimensional dots to the stars and birthday.

Valentine's Day Cards
A few quick cards that are made 3" x 3"( cut 3" x 6") from scraps of card stock. Archievers has a class on these size cards using different techniques. The first one is made with a Martha Stewart punch and just one centered punch per side which leaves you with the square corners and middle. I took the embossing folder that originally came with the Cuttlebug for the center. Have yet to add maybe small hearts to the corners. Used mounting dots to pop it out with a print paper base.
In this group of three, it was a paper kit that had the paper, stamps, sayings that I found in our local clearance store. The middle card, I used a punch but found that it took too big a bite out of the 3" so the paper was on the inside with a sticker on the bottom. The stickers on these cards already had the dimensional dots so they "pop up". These are just a few quick cards that I will be posting for Valentines day in the next few days.

Cardmaking
This is another card with the same idea as in the previous post. Using the gypsy font also for the flowers and leaves. Loved the glitter paper for the cuts.. Embossed the white card stock with the Swiss dots folder.
The Happy Birthday is from a stamp with the corners trimmed with a punch. I use my rotary cutter and ruler to cut my rectangles rather than a paper cutter. It is a habit since I am a sewer and quilter, I find it easier for me. I cut the words out and then glue to a background color, use the 1/8" makings on my ruler to cut around the square, then punch the corners.

Cardmaking
Created on the Gypsy, using glitter paper for the leaves, flower and thanks. I cut the flower and leaves twice so that I could line it up on the inside so that when you opened the card it was the same. The flower and leaves hold the two front panels together. Just playing around with a different idea.

Cardmaking

Another card from Zooballo but this time it was made for my grandson. It was a 5" x 5" card and the stripe paper was cut an eighth of an inch smaller. I used white brads for the eyes of the alligator but added black marker. This was done before the Gypsy so trying to get the layers cut and fit took more time. On page 70 of the handbook, I cut the Happy Birthday and frame. For small items to be glued, they have a Zip pen that you can glue small items. Also cut the grass from this cartridge but had to trim to fit.

Birthday Card
A few years ago when I first bought my Cricut, they had a contest to submit a card with directions to be included. This was the card that I had made with a matching envelope, somewhere are the exact directions for this card but I did use Zooballo for the card, envelope and branch for the leaves
The inside of the card also had the branch and flower to coordinate with the front. I've learned so much since starting my hobby of paper crafting thanks to so many people on the message boards, yahoo groups, and blogs. I find that I am reading more than I am doing though in recent months.

Birthday Card
Card made using the Smiley Cartridge that was an exclusive to the Gypsy. I did weld the blackout feature to create the shaped card although on this photo it looks like it was put on white card stock. This could only be done in the Gypsy since this cartridge was a free update. Cute images on the cartridge.
Embellished with two different Cuttlebug folders (Devine swirls and Swiss Dots) Stickles were added.

Two different views of the same card are today's Christmas card. This style seem to be very big when it comes to making cards. Two layers of the background were cut and then applied on the different sections. Designing this on the Gypsy after you cut the sections is very helpful to get the sizing of the snowmen and other elements. Love the snowmen from this cartridge with added Stickles to the snowmen and snowflakes.
The best part of this card is when it is fully opened and you can see all the different cuts that you've made.

Quilting
Looks like I will have a couple new kits to sew during the winter months, thanks to the Amish Quilt Shop Hop. The kits were part of the prize I won for visiting all 12 shops and then my name was drawn when the shop owners got together after it was over.
First one is a kit for a bag with pattern and all the materials needed including the netting, zipper straps and fabric.

Christmas card
This is the first card that I sent out this year to a very special cousin. It seems every year she sends her cards out to arrive the day after Thanksgiving so I just had to send it ti arrive before the Holiday.
The bird and branch were from Winter woodland cartridge. The white card stock was run through the Snowflakes folder for the Cuttlebug after I had cut out the scalloped rectangle. It was then enlarged by 1/4" and cut out of red paper.
The Merry Christmas was a stamp that I had from many years ago and used pens to color the red and green and brown, then used a scallop punch and colored the edges. The final touch was Stickles to the snowflakes and the berries and branch.

Thanksgiving card
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE.
The pilgrims and turkey were cut from A Childs Year to fit on a 4.25 x 5.5" card. The greeting was printed on a computer, then cut to size and rounded the corners with a punch.

Cards
Although i have not posted in awhile, that does not mean that I haven't been creating. these are the cards that my daughter and I made when we visited Archivers (archiversonline.com/) during one of their free make it sessions back in the summer.
Learned many different techniques: The THANKS card has a punch and heat embossed image. They do provide all the materials for you to make these cards.

Where have I been?
I can't believe it is the end of August already. Although I haven't posted anything in quite awhile, I have still been creating cards and sewing. Projects will get on the post starting with things I've done for my daughters new house.
We have chasing all over town looking for just the right zebra fabric and finally found something at JoAnns. I bought just enough fabric and made three pillows with no scraps left over. Lighting was different in these two pictures but they are the same. Quickly made and I just put a zipper in the back instead of an overlap so it would be easy to remove. They covered existing pillows that came with the couch.
