Christmas in July

A couple more simple cards. In the fall when I have my craft show, I have such limited time to spend on my Christmas cards but I always want to do different cards so simple is what I end doing to get them done in time.
This card was done with a few cuts from the Cricut but what makes the card is using the Cuttlebug. When I get a new cartridge, I usually cut a few things and then put them aside for future use. This is what happened with this card so that I don't remember what cartridge they were from. The Joy was cut from A Child's Year. Just added a bow and a stone to dot the j. On this second card, the paper was the feature, The Noel was cut from the Christmas cartridge. Everything was sized in the Gypsy so that it would fit on a card size. A little ribbon and a stone in the center was all the other extras.

More A Childs Year cards

The cuts from A Child's Year are so cute that I just cut several at once and just use them as is. I call them my quick cards. I plan on making scrapbook pages using these images but until then I have made cards. All are A2 cards that I pre cut several at a time to be ready for a quick card. Just adding a few background mats make them pop out a little more. Left without greetings they are good for a quick note cards.

Just a little accent either ribbon, ric rac or embossed with the Cuttlebug add a little extra but are quick to do.

I love this heart and girl for a Valentines day gift for my granddaughter with just the embossing of two different folders.

these two cards had a felt trim in the burgundy color that was added as an after thought. One image is the negative of the other and if you leave enough room around the cut or a shape around the image so that you can use it as a positive, negative cut.

A Child's Year cards

This has been a very busy week so I only had time to create a few quick cards. All the images were cut from A Child's Year and were cut to fit an A2 card.

The Cuttlebug folders were to add a little more interest to the cards using D"vine Swirls and Swiss Dots. I am looking for trim in my stash that matches the colors but this was the only small piece of ribbon that I had. I will be adding a sentiment but wait til the need arises for the occasion and print on the computer or stamp one. Sometimes it is best just leave a few blank so that I could just use as a note card.

Birthday Card

Using the Wild Card cartridge, I created these two cards sizing them on the gypsy. Both are embossed using Cuttlebug folders although it is hard to see in these pictures.
On the inside, I just cut the paper to fit so that when the card is closed the print shows through. I took the flame cuts and just glued the backs and just placed the by using the opening for the flames, then used Stickles to make them sparkle.

Used the "Happy Birthday from A Child's Year for the greeting. Since there is not a shadow or blackout on this cartridge, I went into the Gypsy Hide feature to remove some of the lines on the inner part of the words. On the second card, it does show better with the solid background but that is why I usually make two of the same type of card.

Thanksgiving card

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE.

The pilgrims and turkey were cut from A Childs Year to fit on a 4.25 x 5.5" card. The greeting was printed on a computer, then cut to size and rounded the corners with a punch.

Cardmaking

Just one last post with Easter cards. Had these scraps laying around so made a quick card.
I just bought this embossing folder and had to try it on some thing. It is an A 2 size card. I try to have card stock cut so that I can grab something and make something quick if the need arises.

Easter card

This is one of my quickie cards using just what I had left on my table after other projects. The background is just printed paper that I put under the card but it really does look like it is part of the card.

The blue card stock is embellished with the D'vine Swirl folder. It was leftover from a circle cut on another project and just glued onto a Easter paper.

Added the flower cut from Gypsy Wanderings cartridge oval shape(3.25"W x 2.22H") and then embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. Added a blue stickles to the dots.

The white scalloped oval also from GW cut @ 5.35"H x 3.39"W.

The lettering was from A Childs Year. Easter was welded with the happy(which was already a design that had all small letters and had a finished height of 1.64". Since I decided to separate the words on this card, I just snipped where they were welded. Pink stickles was used on the lettering.

The scallop was from a Martha Stewart punch that I just bought and is actually punched on the back side of the card.

Snowflakes

This year my daughter is in a wedding and the shower is next week so we have been working on snowflakes which is the theme.

In this picture is the box I created on the Gypsy, It is approximately 4.25" square by 3/4 in deep. The box is for the cookies that my daughter's future mother in law is making. I welded a snowflake in the center of the box and then cut several sizes of snowflakes and attached them with a brad, then added stickles on them. We made over 70 boxes.

These are them lined up on the dining room table stacked five high.

Happy Halloween

This is the other project done for Halloween. The letters were 5" and I ended up mounting these on a sheer wired ribbon that blends in with the door. Had trouble with the letters sticking with tape so I used brads to keep the letters on. Worked well with this method.

BOO

Boo! Done just in time for Trick or treat . Mostly done with cuts from Paper Doll Dress Up with various sizes and the witch was from A Child's Year. Cut the letters from Plantin Schoolbook at 11 1/2" cutting the Shadow feature first.

Used the cuttle bug to emboss the pumpkins. Punched a tiny hole to run the string through so that I could hand it on the door.
