Christmas cards

Another simple card but this time I used the Cricut and Cuttlebug. The Santa sleigh was cut from the Christmas Solutions cartridge that was a free giveaway from Cricut last year. When I cut the sleigh, I did cut it to make a larger card but used the A2 size that I already had cut and embossed and so it extends past the card but I will put it in a larger envelope to mail. It was embossed with Swiss Dots folder and the yellow was from a folder that I bought at Pat Catans in the Darice brand name.
The houses were cut from Plantin Schoolbook and were also embossed. I did trim it also to fit this size of card but did like that it was the same size of the card.

Baby Card

Doodlecharms was one of my first cartridges that I bought and still love it for all the variety of images that is included. In the front of the handbook, all the cartridges have a project included to help get you started in using your Cricut so I would recommend that at least you try one when you get a new cartridge or at least read through it. I know the are some books that I had no use for the project so the reading part was helpful.

This card was one of these projects but with a little variation. I cut the card out of Plantin schoolbook and that leaves those holes on the edge of the card. I sometimes put embroidery thread through them. The bag was cut at five inches and the head was cut @ 1.5" and bottle were cut at 2" I believe. Baby was cut from Plantin schoolbook and sized to fit. I had these star brads and attached the handle with them. Another simple project but needed this in a hurry.

Cow card

Just using the Cricut, I cut this card out for someone who loves cows! It was in Paper Doll Dress Up and at the time it was the only cow that I had so that I had to cut the cows in different colors to get all the elements cut. The white border was actually the extra cut from a frame that I made and had these pieces leftover, added the Stickles. Just a circle for the "moon" from PS.

Another card using Zooballo! This time the card was cut out of the yellow card stock and the brown layer was cut 1/2" larger. The word "Joshua" was cut from Plantin Schoolbook using the End Caps feature. Also made this card before the Gypsy but thought I would share today.

This card was made from Lyrical Letters and Plantin Schoolbook:
Welded with a rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook(size A2 card)4.25" x 5.5", I took the cake on page 70 of the booklet, (shift and jumbo highlighted)and cut out of white card stock. The pink was cut freehand since there is no other option for this cake. Cut Dark pink candles and glued them on the white. Used Stickles to highlight the flame.Computer printed the white square and cut. The Happy Birthday was cut from Zooballo.

Just one last post with Easter cards. Had these scraps laying around so made a quick card.
I just bought this embossing folder and had to try it on some thing. It is an A 2 size card. I try to have card stock cut so that I can grab something and make something quick if the need arises.

Easter Egg Cards

Two more cards that were made on the gypsy. I did run both of them through the Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder Not shown in the picture on these egg shaped cards was that I trimmed about a 1/4" off the bottom so that they would stand on their own.

Easter egg cards

Using my Gypsy, I created these cards because I couldn't find the newest Easter cartridge. using the follow cartridges: Doodlecharms, Gypsy Wanderings, Plantin Schoolbook, Walk in my Garden and A Childs Year for the words.
The flowers were from Gypsy Wanderings and were cut @ 1.22" and were rotated on each cut flower.
The leaves were from Walk In My Garden and cut @1.39 x .48 " and also rotated for each of the cuts.
The Egg shape was cut from Doodlecharms and has to be a separate cut because the flowers and leaves extend over the border.The size was 6.14 x 18.16".
The circles were from Plantin Schoolbook and were cut from .26" and .48" to be used as fillers.
This was my first cut and I couldn't just let it go to waste so I cut out the purple paper and glued it on the front folded paper and then trimmed to leave the egg shape. Glued the green leaves in the cutout section after I ran them through the Cuttlebug. Stickled the leaves and Happy Easter and added the gems to the center part.

The green egg was a welded egg from Doodlecharms so that I had an egg shaped card. Cut the flower part separately and added to the top layer. Put the pink flowers from the other cut egg on top after I ran it through the Swiss Dots folder. Stickled the dots on the flowers and the Happy Easter.

These are two new cards that were created using the same color scheme and papers. I had seen these ideas in a Crafts and Things Magazine issue (Aug. 2009) I did change things around on the cards but the idea was from the magazine. The wording for this card was welded together on the Gypsy to have a one piece word. The next one that I do will have a bit of changes made. Butterfly is from Gypsy Wanderings with the light printed paper cut shadow, then layered with the orange. There is dimension to the butterfly that doesn't show up in the photo but foam squares are mounted on the back.

Another idea for the shower are these candy holders or a battery operated candle. Had a hard time photographing so this is the best that I have. A square bottom with the sides welded to the snowflakes. They have stickles to make them shine and a blue punch snowflake glued to the middle. The are held together with a brad in the corners

Happy Halloween

This is the other project done for Halloween. The letters were 5" and I ended up mounting these on a sheer wired ribbon that blends in with the door. Had trouble with the letters sticking with tape so I used brads to keep the letters on. Worked well with this method.

BOO

Boo! Done just in time for Trick or treat . Mostly done with cuts from Paper Doll Dress Up with various sizes and the witch was from A Child's Year. Cut the letters from Plantin Schoolbook at 11 1/2" cutting the Shadow feature first.

Used the cuttle bug to emboss the pumpkins. Punched a tiny hole to run the string through so that I could hand it on the door.

Another card to share. Merry Christmas is from "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge with added glitter and a couple of pieces of candy from "Joy of the Season" with glitter. added ric rac from my sewing stash.

This card was made from three different cartridges. The Santa was cut from "Joys of the Season" and was cut at 3" and then Stickles was added to the beard and red for the hat. Stickles was also added to the HO HO HO and was cut from Christmas Cheer. Plantin Schoolbook was the cut for the ric rac and in Design Studio so that I welded a page length of the ric rac and then just cut off what I need for cards. Love the paper of the stripes and was in a special package with from coordinated card stock and papers which make it so much easier finding the right match for your project.

Sometimes you have just the perfect match of papers and this patterned paper is one that I love for the holidays. The Joy was cut from Christmas Cheer (banner-s). The gingerbread boy was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up(accessories 2 on page 73. Added brads for the eyes and ric rac cut from Plantin Schoolbook with a bow from a heavy yarn. The stars were a punch.

This card was designed and cut in Design Studio software using Christmas Cheer cartridge. And on the inside, there is a pocket on the inside to add a gift card. Although you cannot see it in the picture the right side of the card is shaped like the package. You can do this with most any cartridge shape, just weld it to a rectangle. I do cut first on scrap paper first to test the cut, then cut on your card stock and other papers.

Graduation

I'm still on graduation projects, so this is a sign that was made to guide guests to the yard. Done in Plantin Schoolbook for the lettering with the end caps feature, and the hat was made from Locker Talk mounted on a thick sheet of 12 x 12" paper

Cardmaking

Using Design Studio, I created party invitations using Locker Talk and Plantin Schoolbook that welded Amy to the card feature. Added stickles to the tassel and a jewel to the top of the hat. Simple but when you cut out over 30 cards, it does take some time.

Easter

I know that Easter is over but I've been busy trying to prep the house for my daughters graduation. These bunny bags were from Plantin Schoolbook and Doodlecharms for the bunnies and were given to the grand children and family members for Easter. Done at "Fit to page" feature, the bags were cut at 7 1/4" and really did hold quite a bit of candy, I also included the bunny sucker covers that I made earlier The larger bag at the left ( violet) was also cut at fit to page. They were placed on a table runner that was strip pieced and quilted at the same time then cut out to look like a giant carrot. Had to collect small 1/8 yard pieces of orange for a few projects because the only time I used these fabrics for anything was Halloween for pumpkins.
