Baby Card

Doodlecharms was one of my first cartridges that I bought and still love it for all the variety of images that is included. In the front of the handbook, all the cartridges have a project included to help get you started in using your Cricut so I would recommend that at least you try one when you get a new cartridge or at least read through it. I know the are some books that I had no use for the project so the reading part was helpful.

This card was one of these projects but with a little variation. I cut the card out of Plantin schoolbook and that leaves those holes on the edge of the card. I sometimes put embroidery thread through them. The bag was cut at five inches and the head was cut @ 1.5" and bottle were cut at 2" I believe. Baby was cut from Plantin schoolbook and sized to fit. I had these star brads and attached the handle with them. Another simple project but needed this in a hurry.

Easter Egg Cards

Two more cards that were made on the gypsy. I did run both of them through the Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder Not shown in the picture on these egg shaped cards was that I trimmed about a 1/4" off the bottom so that they would stand on their own.

Both these cards were featured in the Cricket Newsletter:

Easter egg cards

Using my Gypsy, I created these cards because I couldn't find the newest Easter cartridge. using the follow cartridges: Doodlecharms, Gypsy Wanderings, Plantin Schoolbook, Walk in my Garden and A Childs Year for the words.
The flowers were from Gypsy Wanderings and were cut @ 1.22" and were rotated on each cut flower.
The leaves were from Walk In My Garden and cut @1.39 x .48 " and also rotated for each of the cuts.
The Egg shape was cut from Doodlecharms and has to be a separate cut because the flowers and leaves extend over the border. The size was 6.14 x 18.16".
The circles were from Plantin Schoolbook and were cut from .26" and .48" to be used as fillers.
This was my first cut and I couldn't just let it go to waste so I cut out the purple paper and glued it on the front folded paper and then trimmed to leave the egg shape. Glued the green leaves in the cutout section after I ran them through the Cuttlebug. Stickled the leaves and Happy Easter and added the gems to the center part.
The green egg was a welded egg from Doodlecharms so that I had an egg shaped card. Cut the flower part separately and added to the top layer. Put the pink flowers from the other cut egg on top after I ran it through the Swiss Dots folder. Stickled the dots on the flowers and the Happy Easter.

Easter cardmaking

Newest card that I just love! Has things that have been favorites of mine which is gingham, newest border punch and Swiss dots.

Made this card using Doodlecharms:

For the bunny cut @ 3.5" with the dark pink as the shadow feature
Chalked the ears the added Stickles for the glitz. Eyes and nose are brads added before the shadow was glued on to the back.
Added the pink bow after gluing to a 4.25 x 5.5" square, run through the Cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder, punched the corners with a Martha Stewart corner punch.

In the set of punches was also the punch for a straight border which I used for the gingham paper cut at 7.5 x 5". Because of the size of the paper, I needed to add the stripes to the outer edge to cover the uneven edges from the punch.

The size of the card finished was 5.25 x 7.5" which is larger than my usual size of A 2.

Cardmaking

Two cards to go with baby gifts were created in Wild Card. Changed size so that it would fit in a A 2 envelope. Had to cut the buggy twice (Liner feature) in order to get the different colors and then cut and arrange the pieces. Added stickles to some parts of the design to add the sparkle. The baby was cut from Doodlecharms, added ribbon, marker for the face. Although the card is the fronts only, when you open the card, the baby face is glued between the buggy so that the face is visible from both sides.

Cardmaking, Christmas

Two more cards using the same Joy as in a previous post but this time with the reindeer as the center of attention. The reindeer is from the Doodlecharms cartridge and the Joy from Christmas Cheer cut at two different sizes. I did end up putting a small pom pom for the nose.

Cardmaking, Christmas

This is the card that I made for all my Red Hat friends in our group. Very Large group and I had to make 30 cards. Using Silver paper, I cut out the Ornament at 4 1/2". Then cut the top in a gold paper with the Layers feature. The snowman was cut from Doodlecharms @ 2 1/2". When I did this I used the software program so that I could maximize cuts without wasting too much paper. Also in the software, I cut out the hat and sized it to the snowman from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and cut out 30, then on the final card, I did stickle the hats. The snowflakes were from a border punch and arranged them around. I also cut a back using the blackout feature.
This is a picture of all but a few cut and ready for their envelopes. Love how the silver reflects the light. Could also hang on the tree for an ornament. .

Easter

I know that Easter is over but I've been busy trying to prep the house for my daughters graduation. These bunny bags were from Plantin Schoolbook and Doodlecharms for the bunnies and were given to the grand children and family members for Easter. Done at "Fit to page" feature, the bags were cut at 7 1/4" and really did hold quite a bit of candy, I also included the bunny sucker covers that I made earlier The larger bag at the left ( violet) was also cut at fit to page. They were placed on a table runner that was strip pieced and quilted at the same time then cut out to look like a giant carrot. Had to collect small 1/8 yard pieces of orange for a few projects because the only time I used these fabrics for anything was Halloween for pumpkins.

Cardmaking, Easter

Embossed Easter Card Rainy today so I was making cards. Here's one of them for Easter. It is made from Doodlecharms cartridge and Plantin Schoolbook. The basket was cut at 6 1/2", Bunny at 3", Eggs at 4" which on this cartridge, everything is proportioned unless you have real size button pushed. The Happy Easter was cut at 1/2" with the End Caps feature used. Basket embossed with Traffic Jam folder, the yellow card Swiss Dots, and the eggs were with various border folders.
