Waterfall card

I have been fascinated with this type of card that I saw on "The Spotted Canary" show this past Friday. I went to their website and found the directions on making this card as well as other wonderful projects.

Using my Cuttlebug folders, (instead of stamping or stickers) I cut the squares with the white layer @ 1 7/8" and then the background at 2". Using the stamp die from the Cuttlebug, I cut out 4 different colors and then embossed with 2 folders from the original kit and then 2 others that fit in space and attached to the white squares.

The "Happy Birthday" was a cut file that I created on the Gypsy so that it would go on the sides of the front card. I need to do something to the letters to make them pop more so this will be done either with a pen stitch or chalking.

The top layer square is from the original Cuttlebug folders that came with the stamp die done in a bright green.
As the card is pulled from the bottom ribbon, this is the 2 ND layer which is lavender. The flower is from a set of four smaller folders which are called flowers.

Pull a little more and the third layer shown which is from blue paper and is the cupcake from the original stamp and die.

One more pull and the last layer is exposed which is embossed three times from the birthday folders. I only put it partially through and then position again until I had three celebrates on the square with only the one showing through when the card is closed.

Fun to do but some concentration on folding and putting together but is not difficult and I am planning to do more.

Candle Mat

Before Valentine's day, I created this candle mat, done with cuts from the Cricut. I did use the Gypsy for the sizing of the hearts which were cut from 4 colors of wool.
I used the Cricut to cut the hearts out of fusible web then fused to the back of the wool and then cut the hearts out. I didn't want to put the wool through the Cricut because of the fibers were too fuzzy and would create a problem on the mat and harder to clean.
The white background pattern was also created on the Gypsy by welding 4 hearts together and then traced on the wool. After fusing the hearts, I felted them onto the background but then used a applique stitch around the largest heart. The cuts were from the Sweetheart cartridge. I tried to use the scallop heart for the largest heart but even at 3" there were too many scallops to show up on the final heart. After I felted the hearts, I stitched onto a piece of wool felt and cut about a quarter inch larger.

Cardmaking

This is another card with the same idea as in the previous post. Using the gypsy font also for the flowers and leaves. Loved the glitter paper for the cuts.. Embossed the white card stock with the Swiss dots folder.

The Happy Birthday is from a stamp with the corners trimmed with a punch. I use my rotary cutter and ruler to cut my rectangles rather than a paper cutter. It is a habit since I am a sewer and quilter, I find it easier for me. I cut the words out and then glue to a background color, use the 1/8" makings on my ruler to cut around the square, then punch the corners.

Cardmaking

Created on the Gypsy, using glitter paper for the leaves, flower and thanks. I cut the flower and leaves twice so that I could line it up on the inside so that when you opened the card it was the same. The flower and leaves hold the two front panels together. Just playing around with a different idea. Opened card that has the stem showing through to the front

Cardmaking

These are two new cards that were created using the same color scheme and papers. I had seen these ideas in a Crafts and Things Magazine issue (Aug. 2009) I did change things around on the cards but the idea was from the magazine. The wording for this card was welded together on the Gypsy to have a one piece word. The next one that I do will have a bit of changes made. Butterfly is from Gypsy Wanderings with the light printed paper cut shadow, then layered with the orange. There is dimension to the butterfly that doesn't show up in the photo but foam squares are mounted on the back.

Snowflakes

To continue our theme for the snowflakes. The same flakes on the boxes were added to a album for the shower with the lettering from Gypsy Font welded together. Snowflake folder for the Cuttlebug added the texture to the blue with a little bit of Stickles added although it is hard to see in this photo.
