Wedding Projects

As in the previous post, these were made for the bride and groom to hold for pictures. They were cut from the same cartridges of Tie the Knot for the base and Storybook for the letters. They were cut smaller than 7.5" , I believe at 6" for the base and 3.5" for the letters.

At the last minute, I thought I would add another base but to fit their last name and the same height so the gypsy was used and it was fit to the paper of 12" . I thought it needed a little more for the name to fill the space so out of their color I cut a flourish to fit at the bottom of the name. Holes were punched to string the ribbon through with the name left with the ribbon opened so they could hold an end.

Wedding Projects

My daughter had seen pictures of various banners that she liked, so this is the one that I created to put on the front of her table. These pictures were taken at home on the dining room table.

The white base was cut from Tie the Knot out of the same glitter paper used for all my projects.
They were cut @ 7.5 " and the holes were punched with a hole punch to put the ribbon through the top. The lettering was cut from Storybook out of black glitter paper @ 3.70" with no feature selected. The scroll was from Sweethearts on page 76 but I did go into the hide feature of the Gypsy so I didn't cut the flower or the circles and were cut @ 5.5".
The closeup shows that I added stones to the bottom opposite of the holes punched from the top. The heart was cut as a place to separate the words and was cut from the shadow feature on page 40 of the sweethearts cartridge

Wedding Projects

So right before the wedding, I bought white vinyl from Provo Craft. It comes wrapped up in a package with 2 sheets that are 12" x 24". I did not use the Gypsy to cut this project but used it to set the size that I wanted. Followed the suggested cutting instructions: The settings used were blade depth at 6 and pressure at 2. this just cuts the white vinyl and leaves the backing liner uncut. I did use transfer tape. If help is needed, go to the Cricut website or do a search for more instructions
The bride and groom was cut from Stretch You Imagination on page 74 and used the silhouette feature at 11.5" and this is how it looked after removing it from the mat with me cutting around The Mr & Mrs was cut from Tie the Knot on page 62.

The "just married" was cut from Sweethearts cartridge on page 65 with the shift key used for this image. I did have to release a few areas that were tacked otherwise I would have the wording still attaches to the mat. I used transfer tape to attach to the car.

Wedding Projects

First of all it was a great wedding. I have been so tired and have been relaxing since the event. So now its time to post some of the projects that I did for the wedding in the next couple of days.

These are the favors that were made from Tie The Knot cartridge. They were both cut
@ 11.5". The bride box was cut from the glitter paper and then embossed with the D'vine Swirls folder and the stones were added where all the cuts were made from the Cricut. A ribbon was added to hold the box closed. The groom wore a tan suit so that is why this was made in the color scheme but the paper had the two different side look when folded. The white shirt was cut from the same glitter paper as the brides dress. I did not finish putting the boxes together until the the candy was put inside so that the stress on the paper would hold up. Since it was a small wedding, I only had to make 26 boxes. All the boxes lined up on my table.

Christmas in July

The green card stock was very dark but that is what had matched the green in the paper best. It never shows up best in the pictures. It was cut from Tie the Knot. and embossed with a holly folder on the Cuttlebug. Added a strip of card stock of red polka dot paper that fits around and tied a ribbon over it and added a bow.

Using the Gypsy, the ornament was welded to a tag feature or you could just add this to a rectangle to fit in the pocket. The Peace and Joy was a purchased stamp using gold stamp pad.

Shower

Even the bride had helped with the decorations. These are the napkins that she designed. It was made also with a Lei that was cut apart. Taking a piece of ribbon, she threaded the flower through and tied it to the napkin. A basket with the napkins ready for the guests with a added ribbon to the bottom of the basket

Shower

Right before the shower, I had gotten a craft idea from Martha Stewart. She put flowers on a mini light set so that is what you see in the background. I bought extra Leis and took them apart and glued them to the lights. Hard to tell that they were on in this picture. Everyone had gotten a lei when the arrived.

Instead of a cake, she made three different types of cupcakes.

I made the cupcake wrappers in three colors, the one shown are raspberry cupcakes with a raspberry on top. Trying to the size for the wrappers was not as easy as it should have been. Tried several sizes first but not all cupcakes are created equal. I cut the flowers @1.5" to match the rest of the decorations. there was one light purple cut and then two of the darker purple with a toothpick in between with one flower being reversed.

The groom holding the Leis under the banner that was featured in another post. It was one of the windiest days and cooler than what it had been earlier in the week but at least the sun was shinning that day.

Invitations

So finally the invitations for my daughters shower are done. These are the final result after I had her visit Joann's in Pa. for her to choose the right purple.
It came to 1o different cuts from the Cricut to create, with 2 strips also cut for the band.

The first thing that I did was to choose the scalloped Invitation of page 72 of the Tie the Knot cartridge and size for it to fit in the A 2 envelope. Next was a tag to weld with the Elegant Cake "Celebrate". The tag was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and then both sides of the invitation was done with the D'vine Swirls folder before putting it together.


The flower was from Tie the Knot and was sized in the Gypsy at 1.65" so that i could shadow at 1.75" with the lighter shade. The leaves also were cut the same size but cut two of the leaves and one was mirrored and the smaller leaf was hid. On the tag, I put the flower and the leaves were put on the envelope.

Using the computer, the info was printed and sized to fit on the bottom of the tag so that when you lifted the tag the info was located there.


I cut a strip of green card stock 1.25" and then punched both edges with a Martha Stewart punch. I could not find the right color ribbon so then I did put a 1/4" strip of the purple on the green and then the ribbon so that it would give it the right shade.

All the invitations scattered on the table before getting them put together in the envelopes.

Invitations

These are the invitations that I am working on for my daughters shower. We are doing this through the Internet since she and her future mother in law live in a different state. It is difficult to interpret the colors through the colors on the screen.

This is the first card that I made using the flower as the theme that is closest to the tropical type of theme that I have in my cartridge library. A simple card with a border. The next day, I created this card using a tag feature with the word Celebrate from Martha Stewart Elegant Cake with all the layers. The scalloped pocket is from Tie the Knot as well as the flowers. The purple color is what I thought was the color. The border is cut @ 1.5" and then punched on both sides with a Martha Stewart punch. A strip of purple paper is added to the center. All layers were embossed using Cuttlebug folders (D'vine swirls and Swiss dots). Details for the invitations will be printed and put on the bottom of the tag.

So the colors were not quite right on the first card so the two cards are next to each other with a shadow effect on the newer card. The one on the right will be the choice.

A brighter, lighter purple, 1.25" punched border. Will be looking for the ribbon to match instead of the purple strip.

At least with the blank samples, I will be able to use these cards for other occasions.
